GROUP WORKSHOPS: COMMUNITY BASED

In expressive arts, the art is the therapy, and the healing power of the creative process can be experienced. Spontaneous creative processes are curated and facilitated to guide the individual in the creative process.

While Expressive Arts is shown to have a positive impact on mental and emotional health, the strength based, hope inducing directives create an invitation to express honest emotions and thoughts, and is not clinical mental health treatment. Housed in an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance, space is held for individuals to experiment with spontaneous art, poetry, movement, sculpture, music, and creative writing.

Julia offers group workshops in various forms, to include multi modal forms of expression of dance, visual arts, music, journal practices, poetry, imagery, meditation, and improvisational drama. Workshops offer a safe community space to foster emotional healing, resolve inner conflict, and awaken individual creativity.

In community, we can allow ourselves to support one another through the expressive art process. We are not concerned about the beauty of the visual art, the grammar and style of the writing, or the harmonic flow of the song. Together, we use the arts to let go, to express, and to release. We can also gain insight by studying the symbolic and metaphoric messages. Our art speaks back to us if we take the time to let in those messages.
